Pastor David L. McIntosh, Jr. is a native of Florence, SC, a
graduate of Clemson University, and
earned a Master of Divinity degree from Covenant Theological Seminary. David and his wife Amie met at Clemson
while participating in Reformed University
Fellowship (RUF), which is the campus ministry of the Presbyterian Church in America
(PCA). They have two children: Rachael and Benjamin.Previously Pastor McIntosh served on staff at Twin Oaks Presbyterian Church (PCA) in St. Louis, MO and Woodruff Road Presbyterian Church (PCA) in Simpsonville, SC where he has served for the last five years as Assistant Pastor for Pastoral Care and Teaching. Pastor McIntosh has always had a delight in seeing new churches planted and has for several years been a participant in the Twin Lakes Fellowship, which is a fellowship of PCA pastors gathered around the desire to encourage ministers and churches to promote the work of church planting through their local congregations and to encourage ministers in their personal growth in grace, so as to maximize their effectiveness in promoting the work of the Gospel. In 2004, after much prayer and deliberation, the Session of Woodruff Road Presbyterian Church directed Pastor McIntosh, discerning he had the necessary gifts and abilities, to pursue a pulpit ministry in which he could more fully and regularly exercise his preaching and pastoral gifts. Providentially, that search coincided with the Lord’s gathering of a group of believers who desired to have a biblical and Reformed church in Hartsville, SC. Pastor McIntosh has been strongly recommended by the Church Planting Assessment Center and unanimously called by the MNA Committee of Palmetto Presbytery. Having grown up and been converted in neighboring Florence, SC, David along with his wife Amie (who grew up in Columbia) have a uniquely personal and ever increasing passion for the advancement of the gospel and the Reformed Faith in Hartsville and ultimately desire to see the Reformed Faith firmly established throughout the Pee Dee Region (which represents the Northeastern quarter of the State of South Carolina). Pastor McIntosh has vast experience in preaching, teaching, and discipling. He is an astute teacher; thoughtful and focused in leading others in the church. He is passionate about biblical, expositional teaching and communicating the Reformed world and life view. And, along with that, he also knows how to have a good time. |
